Alice Faye Saulter Swindle passed away too soon, May 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She fought a brave fight against cancer and the cancer ultimately won. She was 64.
Alice was born in Leland, MS December 2, 1953 to James Lefelt and Mellie Choucolli Saulter. She graduated from Leland High School and enrolled in nursing school. After a semester and a half, she decided she wasn't fond of blood. Soon after she met and married her husband, Warren, with whom she would spend the next 45 years.
She and Warren moved to the Jackson area in 1981 where they would make a home for their family. Alice spent thirty-three plus years in the Accounting department of Valley Services in Flowood, making lifelong friends she truly cherished.
She enjoyed cheering the Ole Miss Rebels on in Oxford or wherever they were playing. The Fall was consumed with following the Rebels from game to game. The Spring was special as she enjoyed the beautiful irises, lilies and roses that bloomed in her yard.
Alice loved life and the people with whom she shared it. She was especially proud of the adults her children have become and the life for which they have made for themselves. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and seeing them grow was so gratifying. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Warren Swindle; daughter, Sonya (Don) Henke of Brandon; son, James Paul Swindle of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Madison Henke and Hannah Grace Henke both of Brandon; brothers, Gene (Dollie) Saulter and Jesse (Cindy) Saulter, both of Carrollton; and sister, Patsy Knowles of Jackson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9, from 5-8 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, Flowood, MS. A celebration of Alice's life will be Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m at the Funeral Home. A visitation will be at 10 a.m. until service time. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.
Floral tributes are welcome. Donations may be made in Alice's honor to the charity of your choice.
