Ms. "Jerry" Handfield, 85, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 19, 2021, after a years-long battle with cancer. A graduate of Central High School, Jackson, Mississippi, in 1954, "Jerry" was a career underwriter for 43 years with American Public Life Insurance Company and an elder for decades at the Crossroads of Life Church in Byram, Mississippi.
"Jerry" is survived by 3 daughters–Donna Stubbs, Laurie Lynch (Ken), Judy Buckler (John); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother–Albert Roy "Buddy" Flynt, 2 nephews, and a host of other family, friends and work associates.
Ms. "Jerry" loved drawing, painting, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, traveling, family history, and–of course–attending her grandchildren's special sporting events, band concerts, and other school activities.
Raised in the Methodist tradition, Ms. "Jerry" came to faith in Jesus Christ early in life and practiced that faith throughout her lifetime.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 22nd, at the Crossroads of Life Church in Byram, Mississippi. Her pastor, Trey Hammond, and her son-in-law, Ken Lynch will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM that same morning. Burial will be in the Lakewood Cemetery on Clinton Blvd between Clinton and Jackson, Mississippi.
