Abia Lane Hanna, 81, of Clinton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Born on October 18, 1944, Abia lived a life marked by dedication, quiet strength, and steadfast love for his family, his church, and the game of golf.

Abia devoted 38 years of service to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, where he worked as an Area Supervisor. He was known for his integrity, his work ethic, and the respect he showed to everyone he encountered.

A man of deep faith, Abia loved serving his church and found great joy in being part of his church family. When he wasn't serving others, he could be found on the golf course—a place he cherished and where he made many lifelong friendships.

Abia is survived by his children: Rick Hanna (Stacy), Sherri Childs (Steve) Cory Hanna (Cassidy), and Steve Pickle (Kimberly). He was a proud grandfather to Brian Hanna (Grace), Claire Hanna, Andrew Childs, Matthew Childs, Bradley Hanna, Kanon Hanna, Kylar Hanna, Gage Fell, Cameron Chapman, Jacob Pickle, Jessica Pickle, Jillian Pickle, Trinity Walker(Alex), Shawna Hover, Carley Stewart, and Tanner Jenkins.  He is also survived by his sister, Janet Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emma Holifield and George Holifield; his father, Thomas Abia Hanna; his brother, Joel Holifield; sister-in-law Drenda Holifield; his beloved wife, Vicki Hanna; his daughter, Lori Hanna; grandchildren Connor Childs, Dillion Jenkins, and Andrew Luttrell; and great grandchild Benjamin Hanna.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 2:00–3:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m., at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi.

Abia will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, and his unwavering faith. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Abia's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
