GEORGE BUCK GILMORE GUESTBOOK

George Buck Gilmore

Madison, MS

I wasshocked to read that my friend Gerorge "Buck" Gilmore had left us for Heaven without my knowing he was even ill. George 1, as we called him on Friday mornings during the "Chicken-Foot" dominos game at Ronnie Selden's house, was amazing at Strategy & at Winning! Jan & Lisa, you can add that your Dear Ole Dad was a Master Chicken-Foot Player; he was as sharp mentally as any tack! George was indeed kind, patient & generous with his time, talents & whatever else he had. He willingly took time to advise me when I was house hunting in 1994. George loved people, Christ, and his church - but not necessarily in that order. He helped us usher at the Old Canton Road Campus of Colonial Heights. He and Grace were a loving and gracious couple. I truly enjoyed visiting in their home. I will certainly miss my friend!

I deeply regret the death of George Gilmore. He was a good friend who could always be counted on to do his part in whatever activity where help was needed. My condolences go to his family and friends who share my deep admiration for his well-lived life.

Iím so saddened to hear of the passing of WWII Navy Veteran George Gilmore. I had the honor of being his guardian on the VI Honor Flight during the government shutdown on October 1, 2013. The memorialís were shutdown, but we went anyway. Major media outlets were there to greet us and barricades surrounded their memorial. As we arrived, we got off the bus to take pictures and the barricades opened! It was a beautiful day to celebrate the memorials built in their honor and represented patriotism in every way. Iíll cherish that moment with him forever. Since the honor flight, i stayed in touch with Mr. Gilmore. He told me many stories of how he met his wife at a very young age. They were married for 67 years. I know heís so happy to be back with the love of his life. Rest In Peace Mr. Gilmore. May your kindness and love live on in all those that were so fortunate to know you.
